Classification of interior doors, part 2.

In addition to the purpose, shape, number of canvases and sizes, doors can differ in the material from which they are made and the method of manufacture.

According to the material, interior doors are most often divided into solid solid wood, veneered and laminated.
Doors made of solid wood can be made from a single piece of wood, or from a glued solid wood. These doors are durable, eco-friendly, but at the same time very heavy, massive and quite expensive.

Veneered doors are made using veneer-a thin sheet of natural wood, approximately 0.5-0.65 mm thick, which is glued to the wooden base and covered with a layer of varnish on top. Veneered doors are usually difficult to distinguish from expensive wooden ones. The design of veneered doors is similar to that of laminated doors: a pine frame finished with MDF sheets and a layer of finishing material pasted on top of them. Despite the" composite " design, veneered doors do not differ in strength from doors made of solid solid wood.

Laminated doors are doors covered on the outside with a special melamine film-laminate. Thanks to the properties of this film, the pattern on the door can repeat almost any coating. Most often, a tree is imitated, although there may be other options. When buying laminated doors, it should be taken into account that these are completely artificial doors, and therefore have their own pros and cons. On the one hand, they can be very beautiful and durable, on the other hand, they do not always create the pleasant atmosphere of environmental friendliness and naturalness that people sometimes like.

According to the method of manufacture, interior wooden doors can be divided into panel and panel doors.
The panel design of the door is an older design, and therefore simpler. The design of such a door consists of a frame sheathed on both sides with some material. The inner part of the frame contains the filler.

The panel door leaf is a wooden frame-frame, which consists of strapping (main bars) and mullions (bars that divide the door leaf into parts and connect the strapping bars). The internal openings of the frame are filled with inserts of paneled panels( panels), glass or a combination of them.
Because of the complex design, paneled doors are more expensive, but they allow you to make the door more beautiful and unusual.
